The following rates are a general guideline; please contact me for a more accurate quote as rates are subject to change according to the particulars of your project. For example, a flat rate fee might be appropriate for book length manuscripts and other more extensive projects.

For documents with five manuscript pages* or less, I ask for a minimum flat fee of $15. For documents with five or more pages, I follow the rates listed here:

Copywriting: determined on a project-to-project basis

Creating new content from guidelines, direction, or material from the client. Can include book marketing copy, websites, brochures, press releases, newsletters, etc. May be a collaborative effort with a designer or marketing team.

Ghost Writing: determined on a project-to-project basis

Writing a manuscript or part(s) of the manuscript from guidelines or material provided by the client.

Developmental Editing: $3.50 per page

Reorganizing or rewriting a document or manuscript for structural clarity and/or marketing need.

Copyediting: $3.00 per page

Polishing and correcting language for clarity, content, and organization; editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, redundancy, and parallelisms; checking for consistency of style, voice, facts, and layout.

Proofreading: $2.75 per page

Checking proofs of already formatted and edited material for minor mechanical errors such as spelling and punctuation.

1. *Per page rates are based on the industry standard of 250 words per manuscript page.
